Jesuit College Prep School’s front-of-school additions and renovations introduce a refreshed, welcoming presence to the Dallas campus. Designed by HKS and constructed by Hill & Wilkinson, the project reimagines circulation at key entry points while reinforcing the school’s architectural character.

As part of these updates, HDI installed the Optik™ Shoe floating glass railing system, enhancing safety while preserving openness along the main lobby stair, upper walkway, and second-floor balcony edges.
Optik™ Shoe Delivers Clean Sightlines
HDI supplied and installed the Optik™ Shoe system across multiple mounting conditions throughout the project. In some areas, the shoe channel is surface-mounted to concrete to accommodate structural variation.
Along the main stair, the system mounts directly to steel, maintaining tight alignment with the stair structure.
Every panel uses 9/16″ laminated clear tempered glass with an SGP interlayer, delivering structural performance without interrupting sightlines. The result is a railing system that reads as continuous glass rather than a segmented guardrail.
Coordinated Materials, Intentional Details
To align with the building’s refined interior palette, HDI fabricated all components in 304 stainless steel with a 240-grain brushed finish.
Uniform glazing across all vertical and horizontal transitions ensures a singular, uninterrupted design language throughout the facility.
A Refined Welcome
Today, the Optik™ Shoe system reinforces Jesuit College Prep’s updated front-of-school experience. Glass panels define circulation paths while stainless and maple detailing add warmth and structure.
