Railing System: CIRCUM™ round railing system
Location: San Jose, CA
Architect: QKA Santa Rosa
Contractor: Concord Iron Works

QKA Architects chose CIRCUM™ round to serve as a railing system and an elegant building element at Lynbrook High School. CIRCUM™ round exudes strength and style, supporting a clean and strong architectural design.

For Concord Iron Works, this project was not just a matter of precision, but also of trust in the chosen railing manufacturer’s ability to communicate, collaborate, and deliver a flawless railing system. Any misalignment could disrupt the construction schedule and inflate costs, not to mention compromise the design integrity.

Mark Ewing from Concord Iron Works shared his perspective on the collaboration: “The coordination had to be especially precise as the railing system bolted only to shop drilled holes in the structural steel. There was no ability to field measure due to the method of construction and the schedule. With an architect’s Tekla model of the framing, HDI measured within the BIM model and provided hole layouts for the HSS beams and stair stringers. This was done very well, as no modifications were needed in the field. HDI understood what we needed and brought things together better than we could have hoped for. The project turned out super successful.”

The final result is a low-maintenance, highly durable, and aesthetically appealing infill that meets all project specifications. Lynbrook High School’s science building elevates the campus and exemplifies HDI Railing Systems’ commitment to providing systems where design integrity and safety are paramount.
